Craig Grams officiated. Burial followed in Union Cemetery under the direction of Paeznick-Garness Funeral Chapel, Groton. Clarence Valentine Von Wald was born on July 6, 1912 to Valentine and Lizzie (Paepke) Von Wald in West Hanson Township. He attended Groton High School and played on the varsity football team. He graduated in 1932. On June 9, 1943 he married Theresa Udelhofen Sanderson in Groton. The couple made their home in Groton. Clarence farmed and also worked for Pioneer Seed Corn from 1950-1985. Theresa died in October of 1973. Clarence was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Groton. He enjoyed cards and fishing. Clarence will always be remembered for his wonderful sence of humor. Survivors include one brother, Lyle (Lucille) Von Wald of Groton, 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and special friend Gladys Holler of Groton. Preceding him in death were his wife, three sons, two daughters, his parents and one sister. Casketbearers were Don Sauer, Doug Sauer, Joe Sanderson, Mike Sanderson, Gary Sanderson, Delbert Sanderson, Jr.
