Read More	Clarence Victor Honas, age 80, of Ellis died Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at his residence. He was born May 13, 1926 in Ransom, Kansas the son of Edward Sr and Agnes (Steckline) Honas. He married Alice V Schmeidler on June 2, 1948 in Severin. Clarence owned and operated C V Honas Lathing and Plastering. His memberships included: St Mary's Catholic Church of Ellis, 3rd degree member of Ellis Knights of Columbus #2133, U S Army Veteran during WWII, Chairman of the Board of Golden Belt Bank, Board member of Western Plains Service Corporation and President of Mid-America Financial Corporation. He had also served on the Ellis City Council and was a charter council member, a charter member and past secretary for the Ellis Industrial Corporation Inc. He is survived by his wife Alice of Ellis; four daughters; Virginia Mae Finneran, Fremont, CA, Charlene Wilson and husband, Scott, Topeka, Darlene Chaput and husband, Jerry, Oakley, Diane Kuhn and husband, Pat, Ellis, one son; Randy Honas and wife Wendy of Ellis, five brothers; Frank, Eddie, Glenn, Art, and Oscar all of Ellis, two sisters; Irene Dinkel of Victoria and Delores Schmeidler of Hays, 12 grandchildren; Clara Finneran, Maureen Finneran, Kathryn Finneran, Derek Wilson, Jenny Wilson, Jera Ahrens, Allison Chaput, Victoria Chaput, Amanda Shannon, Anna Kuhn, Taylor Honas and Samuel Honas, 3 great grandchildren; Nicholas Ahrens, Sophia Janson and Lucas Janson. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers; Joe, Rudolph, Ernest and infant brothers Edward and John, one granddaughter; Nicole Diane Kuhn and one great grandson; Kaden Lee Shannon. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 17 at St Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis. A parish wake service will be on Friday at 7:00 p.m. at the church with visitation from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. all at the church. Wasinger-Keithley Funeral Chapel 400 E 17th Ellis, Kansas 67637 is in charge of the arrangements. Burial will be in St Mary's Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to St Mary's Church, Hospice of Hays Medical Center or Capuchin Province of Mid-America.
