Norris, 74, who was well-known in Masonic and Kiwanis circles in much of Kansas, died Thursday night at the Morris County hospital. Services will be Monday morning at 10 o'clock at the United Methodist church, with the Rev. Harold Cooper in charge. Burial will be in in the Greenwood Cemetery, where Masonic graveside services will be conducted. The body will lie in state at the Kendall Funeral Chapel until 9 o'clock Monday morning. Born November 22, 1894, near Norway, Kansas, he was married to Bertha E. McGeorge October 22, 1919. They moved here from Clay Center in 1932. Mr. Norris worked at the post-office in Concordia for about 10 years and for a number of years was a field representative for Fairmont Foods company. Later he became a rural mail carrier here, and he was in that position when he retired. He was active in community affairs and was particularly well known in Masonic and Kiwanis circles. He was a member of the Council Grove Masonic Lodge and Commandery and had been presented his 30 year Masonic pin. He was Past Master and longtime secretary of Blue Lodge and Commandery. A veteran of World War I, he was a member of the American Legion. Mr. Norris also was a member of the United Methodist church. He was preceded in death by a grandson. Surviving are his wife if the home; two sons, William Robert Norris of Topeka and Jerrold Norris of Denver; one sister, Mrs. Martha Blosser of Jamestown; a brother, Clyde Norris of Scandia; six grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
