Description	:	Clarence W. "Mike" See, 94, of Washington died Saturday, March 28, 2009 at the Washington County Hospital following a lingering illness. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 11:00AM at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Kelly Allard officiating. Visitation and viewing will be held two hours prior to the service. The body will be donated to the University of Iowa Department of Anatomy. Read More	Clarence W. "Mike" See, 94, of Washington died Saturday, March 28, 2009 at the Washington County Hospital following a lingering illness. Clarence See was born on September 21, 1914 in Washington, Iowa the son of Mime Dale and Bernice Oddessa (Thompson) See. He graduated from Washington High School and attended Junior College for two years. On August 21, 1939 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Mae Lowe in Washington. He served in the United States Army during WWII and fought at the Battle of the Bulge. Mike worked as a police officer for the City of Washington for 17 years and served as Police Chief for several years. He also worked at the Pearl Button Factory and the Ford dealership. In his younger years he played on the VFW softball team, was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and served on the Washington Fire Department for many years. Mike enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs, 40's music and going to dances. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Dorothy See of Washington, three children, Linda Peiffer of Phoenix, AZ., Larry and wife Carol See of Sterling, IL., Marsha and husband Tom Horak of Bella Vista, AR., 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, one brother, Max See of Washington, and two sisters, Helen Gildersleeve of Winfield, IA., and DeElda Brown of Wheaton, MO. Preceding Mike in death were his parents, one brother, Rex See, one sister, Marie Swift and a sister in law, Mildred See. Beatty & Peterseim Funeral Home Website
