CLARIBEL JOSEPHINE CLAYBURG A daughter of John and Faye (Bell) Anderson, Mrs. Clayburg was born Dec. 28, 1915, on her parents' farm home in Carroll County. She attended country schools before attending Coon Rapids schools. She graduated in 1933. While in school, she received Normal Training and taught country school for a short time. On Dec. 5, 1936, she was married to Frank Clayburg at her parents' farm home near Coon Rapids. After living a short time in Shenandoah, the couple returned to the Coon Rapids area where they farmed. Mrs. Clayburg was a homemaker. Shortly after her husband's death in 1975, she moved into town. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, PEO, and the. St. Anthony Regional Hospital Auxiliary. She was committed to and active in the Coon Rapids community. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bridge and, in earlier years, golfing. Claribel had been in failing health for several weeks before her death at St. Anthon y Hospital in Carroll on Sunday, March 29, 1992, at the age of 76 years, three months and one day. She is survived by her son, Dr. John Clayburg and his wife, Karen, of Coon Rapids; five grandchildren, Gary Clayburg, a student at Iowa State University, Roger Clayburg, a student at Des Moines Area Community College, and Kathy, Tom and Michael Clayburg, all at home; and an American Foreign Exchange Student grandson, Cristian Mare of Rosario, Argentina, who lived with the John Clayburg family from 1988-89. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
