Description	:	CLARICE ALEXANDER died peacefully and without pain on March 7, 2010, in Wharton, Texas following an extended illness. She was born in Flaxville, Montana on October 9, 1923, the daughter of Otillie Schulke (d. 1992) and John Tesnow (d. 1979). In 1946 she married Earl Alexander (d: 1985) and they moved to South Carolina where he served as a Wesleyan minister. She was born in Flaxville, Montana on October 9, 1923, the daughter of Otillie Schulke (d. 1992) and John Tesnow (d. 1979). In 1946 she married Earl Alexander (d: 1985) and they moved to South Carolina where he served as a Wesleyan minister. Fifty years of Clarice's life was spent in South Carolina before moving to Egypt, Texas in 1998. Her formal education was completed in 1968 at Central Wesleyan College in South Carolina with a B.A. degree in Elementary Education. She taught third and fifth grades in South Carolina elementary schools in Pickens, SC and Anderson, SC until her retirement in the early 1980s. As a devout Christian and a lifelong Wesleyan, she was a member of the Lakeside Wesleyan Church, Anderson, SC, serving in numerous capacities including chairman of the church board; hobbies included sewing, quilting, ceramics, and watching baseball; she loved to entertain. Clarice was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and five brothers, Ervin, Emil, Alvin, Harold and Paul Tesnow. She is survived by two daughters, Myra and her husband, John Wynn, of Egypt, TX, and Joyce Keller of Blythewood, SC; three grandsons, Thomas Wynn of Egypt, TX, Alex Keller and James Keller of Blythewood, SC; three brothers, Charles Tesnow of Findlay, OH, Harvey Tesnow of Arcadia, OH, and Edward Tesnow of Shreveport, LA.; numerous nieces and nephews. She is remembered as a sweet, gentle spirit, devoted to her Christian faith and her family. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 23, 2010, 4 p.m. at the Wood Mortuary, 300 West Poinsett Street in Greer, SC with a visitation at 3 p.m. prior to the service; and burial will be in the family plot at Wood Memorial Park in Duncan, SC.
