Read More	=================================== Kingman Star Kingman, Indiana 1945 / Edition unknown Claris Elbert Harvey, son of Edward and Rachel Doan Harvey, was born at Sylvania, May 13, 1877, died at his home at Tangier, Aug. 16, 1945, aged 67 years, 3 months and 3 days. He was married June 23, 1900 to Miss Chloe Murphy and the became the parents of one son, Hubert. He attended the school at Sylvania and at an early age started working for the railroad, which he continued for many years. He was a man of strong constitution and determination and although his work as section foreman was hard, he always kept his part well done and never the day too hot or too cold, nor the task too hard for him to falter until 2 years ago he suffered a stroke which caused him to live a retired life. For the past 11 weeks he has been seriously ill until a heart attack ended his life. During all the time of his sickness he was patient and cheerful and spent the long summer hours in the yard of his home always having a friendly smile and wave of his hand to passers by. He believed in the power of prayer recently telling his wife, "I am not afraid to go for I know I am saved." He possessed a naturally musical voice and singing was his delight. In his boyhood days, many happy hours were spent at home singing with his brothers, mother and sister, and during his last days he sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In The Sweet By and By". Mr. Harvey knew the heartaches of war, being the son of a civil war veteran and having his son engaged in World War II. He was honest and industrious, a kind husband and father, a loving brother, a good neighbor and friend, and has lived his life to the best of his ability, falling asleep in the darkness of midnight to awaken in the lovliness of the Resurrection morning where all is beauty and light and "we shall know as we are known". Mr. Harvey is survived by his widow, Chloe, who so faithfully cared for him, his son Hubert, little grandson, Billy Lee, two sisters, Mrs. Della Jackson of Tangier, Mrs. Ella Cowger of Terre Haute, two brothers, Otis and Leslie also of Terre Haute, several nieces and nephews and many friends, all of whom will sadly miss him. ===================================
