Description	:	Loretta Clarissa Poisall was born in Clarksville, Ohio, March 22, 1852 and died at Seward, Nebraska, March 21, 1922, lacking only one day of being 70 years old. When she was about three years old her parents moved from the old home in Ohio to Osceola, Clark county, Iowa, where she spent ten years. It was during this time that she was converted and joined the Methodist Episcopal church. In 1865 her parents again took their westward flight and came to Plattsmouth, Cass county, Nebraska, where they remained but a short time and moved to a homestead two miles east of Seward.... Read More	Loretta Clarissa Poisall was born in Clarksville, Ohio, March 22, 1852 and died at Seward, Nebraska, March 21, 1922, lacking only one day of being 70 years old. When she was about three years old her parents moved from the old home in Ohio to Osceola, Clark county, Iowa, where she spent ten years. It was during this time that she was converted and joined the Methodist Episcopal church. In 1865 her parents again took their westward flight and came to Plattsmouth, Cass county, Nebraska, where they remained but a short time and moved to a homestead two miles east of Seward. The next five years she spent with her parents in subduing this western wilderness but on July 3, 1870 she was married to a young homesteader by the name of Samuel N. Welsh, who had also come from the old Ohio home. Her new home then joined the old home on the south. Her husband preceded her to that better land 21 years ago, there to await her coming. To this union were born nine children, three daughters and six sons. Effie and Charles died in infancy. Lon lived to be 25 years old. There remain to mourn her loss her sons, George, Roy, Frank and Fred, and her two daughters, Amy, of Omaha, and Dot of Seward. Besides 11 grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Sherman of Bonaparte, Iowa and Mrs. Alice Misel of Omaha. During all those years she has lived a consistent Christian life and left a worthy example for others. Her children may well rise up and call her blessed.
