A memorial service for Mrs. Lippard was held at Church of the Good Shepherd in Rosemont, Penn. A second memorial service was held in June of 2001 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Emmetsburg. A memorial service for Mrs. Lippard was held at Church of the Good Shepherd in Rosemont, Penn. A second memorial service was held in June of 2001 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Emmetsburg. Margaret was born Sept. 30, 1906, the daughter of the late E.B. Soper and Clarissa Robins Soper of Emmetsburg. She attended All Saints School for Girls in Sioux Falls, S.D., and graduated from Emmetsburg High School in 1925. She continued her education and graduated from Cornell College, Mt. Vernon, in 1929, majoring in art and English. She was employed in the advertising office of the Killian Company in Cedar Rapids, writing copy and illustrating print advertisements. The Soper family relocated in 1929 and Margaret worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority. She was married to Thomas W. Blasingame of Sheffield, Ala. Margaret returned to Iowa in 1945 and was appointed Director of Public Relations by All Saints School in Sioux Falls, S.D. She later returned to Emmetsburg where she conducted a preschool in the Soper Home. She also enjoyed a brief stint as editor of Emmetsburg's newspapers while Mary and Gibb Knudson were on vacation. Margaret taught English at Emmetsburg Middle School until her marriage to Arthur Ralph Lippard in 1958. The then-retired Col. Lippard was stationed at the Naval Air Base in Pensacola, Fla., and Margaret became an English teacher in the Pensacola Adult High School. After retiring, the Lippards returned to Emmetsburg for five years, then moved back to St. Petersburg; Fla. In 1989, Margaret Lippard moved to Devon, Penn., where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Drs. John H. and Margay Blasingame Grose. Mrs. Lippard was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Emmetsburg. She was a member of the B.K. Chapter of P.E.O. Sisterhood, of NSDAR and the Friday Club. Surviving are five children and a brother.
