She married Benjamin Rose on April 14, 1859 in New York. Three known children were born to them, Frank Emmet, Cora Agnes, and Myrna Ekiza. She died Dec 8, 1903 in Clarks, Merrick County, Nebraska, aged 70 yrs, 4 months, and 10 day, and is buried in the Bureau Cemetery. From a 1903 Nance County, Nebraska, newspaper clipping file, transcribed by Linda Berney: Mrs. Clara, wife of Benjamin S. Rose, died last Tuesday morning about 5 o'clock, at her home two miles east and seven miles south of this city, at the mature age of 70 years. The funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at one o'clock at the Lumadue school house, which is about 10 miles southeast of this city. Mr. and Mrs. Rose and family came to the farm on which Mrs. Rose passed away over 30 years ago and were among the first settlers in this part of the country. Mrs. Rose leaves a husband, two daughters, Mrs. M. C. Chesley, and Mrs. Ed Scott, and one son, Frank, who makes his home with his parents. ~~~~ Another clipping indicated she had suffered a stroke of paralysis six weeks earlier and had been at death's door ever since.
