Description	:	Clark was the son of Daniel and Caroline "Olive" Loomis Perkins. His siblings were: Saxadotha "Saxy", Delos Garland, Caroline, Daniel Ezra, Juiana, Mary, Celia, Ellen, Elsie, Delia, Miles, Martha, Orin, and Maude. In 1846, the family moved to Mukwonago County, Wisconsin, traveling by water from Buffalo, New York. Clark left home in 1855 and rode horseback to Leavenworth, Kansas where he was employed by Russell, Majors, and Waddell and hauled freight to western forts. In 1846, the family moved to Mukwonago County, Wisconsin, traveling by water from Buffalo, New York. Clark left home in 1855 and rode horseback to Leavenworth, Kansas where he was employed by Russell, Majors, and Waddell and hauled freight to western forts. After serving four years with the company, he was promoted to station master at Fort Cottonwood(Julesburg, Colorado) which was on the Pony Express route. 1861 found him back in Wisconsin where he joined the 28th Wisconsin Infantry on August 21, 1862 for 3 1/2 years. He was listed as a private and wagoner. After the war, he returned to Wisconsin where he married Elizabeth Cate on February 5, 1868. They were living in Dane County, Wisconsin in 1870 with children Chauncey and Fred. He came to Nebraska in 1878. By 1880, the family was in Lancaster County, Nebraska with children Chauncey, Fred, Grace, Laurel, and Luella. The family arrived in Pleasant Valley, Loup Township, Buffalo County, Nebraska on March 10, 1883. Maud joined the family here in 1884. Later they moved to Section 19 and then retired south of the river in Rusco Township where the Tom Eckhout family lives now. The life of a pioneer, has gone to his reward. Clark G. Perkins 83 years months old died at his home in Pleasanton, January 24, 1919, after a lingering illness. He left surviving him, his widow at Pleasanton and six children. Chauncey E. Perkins of Poole, Nebr., Mrs. Grace(P.O.) Frame of Lisco, Nebr., Mrs. Maude(Fred)DeBruler of Baynard, Nebr., Mrs. Luella(Charles) Wort of Jackson, Wyo., Fred E. Perkins of Jackson, Wyo., and Laurel A. Perkins of Salt Lake City, Utah, all of whom were present at his bedside except the latter who was unable to attend, on account of sickness. He was an Odd Fellow for 15 years, and active member of the G.A.R. The funeral services were held from the home sunday afternoon, January 26th, and his remains were laid to rest in the Pleasanton Cemetery.
