Description	:	Apparently the second oldest child of James and Rosina, she was born in Geneva, Ohio, but within two years, before her sister's birth in 1846, the family moved to Columbia county, apparently to the villiage of Cambria, in the then territory of Wisconsin. It was here that she spent her childhood, and eventually met here future husband, William Bullock. It was here that she spent her childhood, and eventually met here future husband, William Bullock. Clarrissa and William married there, and probably were farming, when both their first two daughters, Mary and Alice, were born, before they moved across the Mississippi, to the state of Iowa. Iowa became a state the year Clarrissa's sister, Mary was born 1846, but Clarrissa may have and William would have remembered, the celebration when Wisconsin became a state two years latter in 1848. A good majority of the people, there in Columbia Co. where I think her father ran a grocery store, were originally from New York, as was William's family, or from the New England states like her mom. It would be fun to know if the families were acquainted there as well? I don't know what religion they were but the Congregationist Church also seems to predominate here at that time. It is also the denomination of the Little Brown Church, made famous in the song by Dr. Pitt. which was not too far from where Clarrissa and William settled in Iowa. Clarrissa's older brother, William, died in 1852, and from the 1900 census record it appears that though her parents had a total of 10 children, like William, 4 died in childhood. After the birth of their two daughters, Mary and Alice, and the end of the Civil War, Clarrissa and William moved to Iowa, along with his parents, siblings, and their families, to Chickasaw County Iowa, to farm near the town of Fredericksburg. Three more children, Annie, Nelson, and Wesley, would be born there, but all three of these children died in November of 1880, within days of each other, apparently of a contagion of some sort, so only their two oldest daughters, who were born in Wisconsin survived and went on to marry. Clarrissa and William lived out their lives there in Fredericksburg. Apparently Mary and Alice stayed near Fredericksburg, and before their deaths in the next century, Clarrissa and William saw their grandchildren born and raised there.
