He was preceded in death by his son, Bobby Don Adams; his father, [John] Manford Adams; a sister, [Mrs.] Theo Greenway; two brothers, Ronald and Buddy. He was united in marriage to Gladys Rankin and to this union were born two children, a daughter, Betty Jo Maley and a son, Bobby Don Adams. His son preceded him in death at the age of two years. Babe leaves to mourn his death his wife, Gladys, a daughter, Betty Jo Maley, a grandson Jim Maley, his mother Ethel Adams, five brothers Kenneth and Jack, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Harold of Alamosa, Colorado, Keith of Osawatomie, Kansas, Ray of New Market, Iowa, two sisters, Marjorie Knapp, Blue River, Oregon and Helen Parks, Gravity, Iowa. Babe lived his entire life in the New Market and Clarinda areas where he farmed and was employed at the Clarinda Mental Health Institute for twenty-eight years, when an injury in 1964 forced him to retire. Babe was a warm, friendly, charitable person who never met a stranger. He had a zest for living and he brightened the lives of all he encountered. No day was too cold or night too dark for him to help someone in need. Most of the past eight years his illness has confined him to his bed. He has lived with a brave, courageous determination to uphold his purposes in life. He will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends.
