Born in Cliffside, N.C., he was the husband of Judy Hampton Moore and son of the late I. V. Moore and Katie McCraw Moore. He retired from textiles, loved fishing and NASCAR, and was a member of West End Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Terri Moore Gossett and husband, Ross, of Gaffney; a brother, Marvin Moore and wife, Arlene, of Greenville, N.C.; a sister, Barbara Byars of Blacksburg, S.C.; a granddaughter, Nicole Cleveland of Culpeper, Va.; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Van Moore and a sister-in-law, Martha Moore. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stuart A. Kersey officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Interim Hospice, 775 Spartan Blvd., Suite 101, Spartanburg, S.C. 29301 or Cherokee County Humane Society, P.O. Box 2223, Gaffney, S.C. 29342.
