Russell were married at Camrose, Alberta in 1927. Claude remarried to Eva L. Hart at Camrose in 1931. He later married Lela Mae Hart. Claude Hill Robinson was born in Chesterville, Ontario, on Oct. 26, 1891. He came west in 1909 and graduated from the Calgary Normal School in 1910. He obtained his B.A. degree from Queen's University and his M.A. and M.Ed. degrees from the University of Alberta. He taught various schools in Southern Albertan until 1915 when he joined the staff of the Camrose Practice School. In July 1916 he enlisted and served overseas in World War I with the 50th Battalion and he was discharged in 1919, with the rank of Sergeant. He returned to the Camrose Practice School as Principal after his war service. In 1928 Mr. Robinson was appointed Inspector of Schools for the Lamont Inspectorate and took up residence in Fort Saskatchewan. He returned to Camrose in 1934 as School Inspector for the Camrose Inspectorate and became Superintendent of the Division when it was formed in 1936. His keen interest in education and his intense desire to give rural children all the advantages of higher education made him an active worker in the promotion of the Divisional School plan and in the organization of centralized schools so that rural children would be able to participate and still live at home. Due to an illness he was forced to retire from active work in 1954. Since his retirement his interests were to be found in reading and active participation in the Camrose Craft Centre. His particular enjoyment at the Centre was in the woodworking class. C H. Robinson was a Past Master of Camrose Lodge No. 37, A.F. & A.M., a life member of the Calgary Chapter, a member of the Edmonton Preceptory, a life member of the Al Azhar Temple of the Mystic Shrine, and a Past District Deputy Grand Master of District No. 5 of the Grand Lodge of Alberta. He was a member of the Camrose Branch of the Canadian Legion and at the Vimy Night celebration was presented with his 25 years membership pin. He leaves to mourn his passing: his loving wife, Lela; the two sons, Hugh John and Robert, the two daughters, Joan and Mavis, and Grandma Hart, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Johnston of Vancouver, and Miss Gladys Robinson of Edmonton; three brothers, William of Seattle, Mason of Chesterville, Ont., and Birnie of Morrisburg, Ont.; a half sister, Mrs. Helen Barkley of Elma, Ont.; and a half-brother, Hubert, of New York City.
