Description	:	Claude Laverne Flory, 83, of Pioneer, died Saturday morning, Feb. 2, 2002, in his home. Born July 19, 1918, in Jewell, to Agnes (Schock) and Henry P. Flory, he married Melba R. Tate and she survives. The owner of the Flory's Trenching & Excavating of Pioneer for 41 years, he was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Dunkard Brethren Church of rural West Unity. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Marvin Flory of Dallas Center, Iowa; two daughters, Claudia Meyers of Mosell, Miss., and Delores Shoup of Pioneer, seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Harley Flory... In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Marvin Flory of Dallas Center, Iowa; two daughters, Claudia Meyers of Mosell, Miss., and Delores Shoup of Pioneer, seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Harley Flory of Defiance and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his stepmother, Abbie (Rupp) Flory and a granddaughter, Roxanne Flory. Visitation will be held today from 2-8 p.m. at the Hollingshead Funeral Home in West Unity. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Pleasant Ridge Dunkard Brethren Church of West unity with Brother Dennis St.John and Brother Tom St.John to officiate. Burial will be in the Poplar Ridge Cemetery near Jewell. Memorials may be made to the Community Hospitals of William County-Montpelier Rehab.
