Description	:	Claudine L. "Claudia" Badura, 80, of Grand Island died Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. Claudine was born Aug. 4, 1930, on a farm northwest of Loup City to Frank and Constance (Gzehoviak) Larchick. On Sept. 14, 1948, she married Ralph Badura at Loup City. He died in 1993. Claudine was born Aug. 4, 1930, on a farm northwest of Loup City to Frank and Constance (Gzehoviak) Larchick. On Sept. 14, 1948, she married Ralph Badura at Loup City. He died in 1993. Survivors are: son, Claude Badura and his wife, Nancy, of Kearney; daughters, Adrianna Davis and her husband, Robert L., of Grand Island and Rebecca Parker and her husband, Larry B., of Frazer, Mont.; sister, Cornelia Weiss of Cheyenne, Wyo.; grandchildren, Christopher Badura, Clifton and Colleen Davis, Cedric and Jamie Davis, Michael and Jessica Parker and Jessica Lea Parker; and great-grandsons, Andrew, Ethan, Jacob, Samuel and Charles Davis and Hayden Parker. Claudia attended kindergarten at Ravenna, then her parents moved back to Loup City where she attended Mooncreek School and St. Josephat's Parochial School. She graduated from Loup City High School in 1948. She and Ralph lived in Ashton where she was employed at Badura's Store and Ashton State Bank. She was a charter member of the Ashton Legion Auxiliary and was its historian for 15 years and also served in other offices. She was organist at St. Francis Church for 18 years, taught CCD there and at St. Leo's in Grand Island, was instrumental in organizing the 4-H Club, wrote the church history for the diamond jubilee, and organized the Ashton High School Alumni Association in 1967. She was a news correspondent for the Sherman County Times for 15 years. In 1987, she and Ralph moved to Grand Island, where she volunteered playing music at Lakeview Nursing Home and the Grand Island Veterans Home and volunteered at St. Francis Medical Center. She loved traveling, having visited Fatima, Portugal, Lourdes, Tomb of Padre Pio, Black Madonna in Czestahova, Poland, and Sister Faustina Shrine in Poland, and she traveled extensively in the United States, Canada, Brazil and South America. Her greatest joy was her faith and family. She was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of Americas Court Ave Maria 1263 and was a past regent of the court. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Christine Kusek, Dorothy Kucera, Tillie Cannon and Sara Osantowski, and a brother, Lambert Larchick.
