| Description | : | Son of George and Catherine Ahrens who were immigrants from Germany. Claus married Hulda Schroeder on May 30, 1920 and began their married life on the farm where Claus was raised. On July 4, 1945, a tornado ripped through the farm destroying everything there. Both Claus and Hilda were carried by the winds about 200 feet from the house where they had been hiding. They survived but moved to Seward about six months later where they lived their lives out. |
