Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Clay was born October 15, 1917 in Bloomfield, Iowa the son of Blaine and Cressie (Bowling) Goode. Goode, age 91, of Washington, Iowa died Sunday February 1, 2009 at the Washington County Hospital following a short illness. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Clay was born October 15, 1917 in Bloomfield, Iowa the son of Blaine and Cressie (Bowling) Goode. He attended school in Bloomfield, Iowa. On August 9, 1941, Clay was united in marriage to Lorena Hess in Lancaster, Missouri. Clay lived all of his married life in Washington County. He farmed in the Wellman area and was a Territory Manager with Cargill Seeds. He later worked as a salesman for DeKalb Seed Company. Clay later started an independent seed business which he operated for many years. He attended the First Baptist Church in Washington. He enjoyed golfing and in his younger days he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife Lorena Goode of Washington, Iowa; one brother Harlan Goode of Ankeny, Iowa and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters- Iola Goode and Laona Goode; an infant brother; and a sister-in-law – Zelda Goode.
