His daughter Jennifer, son in-law David, and granddaughter Erin were at his side. Mr. Hicks was born in Jefferson on January 28, 1915, a son of Forrest and Albertina (Dorr) Hicks. His daughter Jennifer, son in-law David, and granddaughter Erin were at his side. Mr. Hicks was born in Jefferson on January 28, 1915, a son of Forrest and Albertina (Dorr) Hicks. Clayton was a lifelong resident of Jefferson. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked many jobs over the years in order to support his family, including working as a lLogger, farmer, truck driver, heavy equipment operator, and deliveryman. Pappy gained pleasure from the simple things in life such as travel, the outdoors, and good food, but his greatest joy and pride came from his family and many friends. He leaves eight children, Clayton Thayer Hicks and wife Cathy of Plymouth NH, Edward Kent Hicks and wife Ann of Jefferson NH, Wanda Lacasse and husband Ted of Berlin NH, John Hicks and wife Crystal of Virginia Beach VA Forrest Hicks and wife Bonnie of Jefferson, William Hicks and wife Linda of Whitefield NH, Bruce Hicks and wife Sheila of Jefferson, and Jennifer Foster and husband David of Jefferson; 27 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister Audrey Daily of Tonawanda NY; sister in-law Betty Gainer of Lancaster; and brother in-law Ted Clukay of Jefferson. He is also survived by the children of Lois Kenison, with whom he had a special relationship. They include Deana Colborn and husband George, Lynn Clark and husband Bill, Tim Kenison and wife Jeannie, and Terry Kenison and wife Diana. He was predeceased by his wife Patricia (Thayer) Hicks and later Lois Kenison, as well as his daughter Katherine Hicks Mathieu.
