Burial will follow in Walnut Valley Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at Carlson Funeral Home. He was born July 28, 1921, in Marion County, the son of Alvin A. and Elda M. (Decker) Unruh. He worked in the oil fields as a truck driver working for Counter Oil Field Trucking. He was a member of the First Christian Church, but was attending the First Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Leon Senior Center. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945. On Sept. 24, 1947, he married Peggy Kiser in Leon. She preceded him in death on May 5, 1992. He later married Juanita Dean on Dec. 6, 1992, in El Dorado. Survivors include: wife, son, daughter, step-son, step-daughter, brothers, sisters, nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Memorials in his memory for the First Baptist Church or the Leon Senior Center may be left at Carlson Funeral Home where friends may call.
