Description	:	Clayton Meyer was the son of Henry Meyer and Elvina Anderson Meyer. He moved to the Enders area as a young boy with his parents and lived the rest of his life in Chase County. His mother died when he was only 13 and life was very difficult for the young family after that. He was a farmer all his life and is remembered as a good neighbor and friend to all. He moved to the Enders area as a young boy with his parents and lived the rest of his life in Chase County. His mother died when he was only 13 and life was very difficult for the young family after that. He was a farmer all his life and is remembered as a good neighbor and friend to all. Clayt always had a friendly word for everyone he met and loved to tell stories and jokes. He also loved to play cards with friends and do crosswords. He would sing as he worked and preferred the old cowboy songs of his youth. He married Iva Mae Surber on May 25, 1938. They had four children, Connie, Karen, Richard, and Elvina. They remember their father as a loving man and his family was the most important priority in his life. Clayt loved the Christmas holiday and always had to open "just one present" before Christmas morning. Of course the children were very happy to join him in this tradition. Clayton died from a coronary occlusion at the age of 53. He is still missed by his family.
