The honored and venerable couple were attended by four grand children, Dulphus and Alvina Allard, and Joe Allard and Ida Joron of Salix, Iowa. These services were attended by a large crowd of relatives and friends and were very impressive. ... The honored and venerable couple were attended by four grand children, Dulphus and Alvina Allard, and Joe Allard and Ida Joron of Salix, Iowa. These services were attended by a large crowd of relatives and friends and were very impressive. The eloquent address of Father Plante was especially appreciated. A reception in Halstead hall following the church services. Two hundred invited guests assembled to assist Mr. and Mrs. Allard in celebrating the event. The hall was beautifully and suitably decorated with gold trimmings. At 2 p.m. a sumptuous wedding dinner was served. The remainder of the evening was passed in music, social intercourse and general merry-making. Mr. and Mrs. Allard were married at Vercheres, Canada, Feb. 17, 1859, by the Rev. Father Bruno. They came to this country twenty-eight years ago and settled in Salix, Iowa, on a farm. Several years ago they came to Jefferson, which has since been their home. Mr. Allard is 73 years of age and Mrs. Allard 68, both enjoying at present very good health. Mr. and Mrs. Allard are the parents of seven children, three boys and four girls. Albert, Dulpus and Clement all live in Jefferson; Mrs. Joron at Salix; Mrs. St. Once in Sioux City and Mrs. Ogand D. Allard in Jefferson. Three are thirty-nine grand children, the oldest granddaughter being a nun the Cherokee, Ia. convent, SisterMary Cecilia of the Servants of Mary. They were the recipients of many beautiful and valuable present from relatives and appreciating friends. Among those were a solid gold watch for Mrs. Allard and a solid gold headed cane for the venerable groom. That the remainder of their life may be as happy and prosperous has the years that are passed is the sincere wish of a host of admiring friends. Out of town guests present at the celebration were Mr. and Mrs. Hubert, Mr. and Mrs. LaCroix, Mr. and Mrs. Joron and family and Mrs. Dozois of Salix and Mr. and Mrs. Gaudette and Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Yerter of Sioux City."
