Services will be at 1 p.m. today at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Epworth, with the Rev. Dennis Cain officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Epworth. Friends may call after 11 a.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Epworth. He was born on Oct. 9, 1929, in Dubuque, son of Frederick and Johanna (Stritzel) Mausser. He received his education in the rural Epworth country schools and Epworth High School. He married Jean Friederick on Sept. 18, 1951, at St. Joseph's Prairie Church. He farmed in the rural Epworth area his entire life. Clem was a lifelong farmer, he loved working the land and raising his cattle, and spending time on his ranch. The last few years, he was able to continue to work it with the help of his favorite grandson, Chris Brehm. Surviving are his wife, Jean Mausser, of Epworth; five children, Paul (Mary) Mausser, Phil (Phyllis) Mausser and Carol (Fritz) Brehm, all of Epworth, Diane (Tim) Hoover, of Edgewood, and Luann Goerdt, of Tipton; 23 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Rita Callahan, of Epworth; a brother, Bernard Mausser, of Farley; and a son-in-law, Jim Leick, of Durango. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Joan M. Leick, on June 29, 2009; a grandson, David Mausser; two sisters, Emma Mausser and Bette McDermott; three brothers, Joe, Henry and William Mausser; two sisters-in-law, Mary Agnes Mausser and Margaret Mausser; and two brothers-in-law, Dan McDermott and Noel Callahan.
