Born in Blacksburg, she was the widow of the late Joseph (Joe) Wilson Vaughn to whom she was married for 57 years, and was the daughter of the late Charlie (C.J.) Moss and Cleo Byars Moss. Read More	Gaffney, S.C. - Cleo Moss Vaughn, 91, formerly of 704 S. Johnson Street, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Magnolias of Gaffney. Born in Blacksburg, she was the widow of the late Joseph (Joe) Wilson Vaughn to whom she was married for 57 years, and was the daughter of the late Charlie (C.J.) Moss and Cleo Byars Moss. Mrs. Vaughn was a graduate and valedictorian of her class at Gaffney High School, was a charter member of the first Beta Club and was a former Miss DAR. She retired from Gaffney Broadcasting after 40 years of service and was a member of Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher for 72 years and served on numerous committees. Mrs. Vaughn volunteered with Meals on Wheels, was a faithful visitor to the homebound and nursing homes, and was a former board member of the Senior Centers of Cherokee County. Surviving is a son, Lud W. Vaughn and wife, Polli S., of Rock Hill; a daughter, Mary Price and husband, Terry, of Gaffney; a sister, Thelma Westmoreland of Gaffney; five grandchildren, Carmen Ganjehsani and husband, Warren, of Lexington, Megan V. Jones and husband, Marlon of Summerville, Hayley Whisonant and husband, Stephen of Rock Hill, Justin V. Turner and wife, Brooke of Columbia and Joel S. Turner of Nashville, Tn.; ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Knight and Lucille Feemster and two brothers, Edgar Moss and Marvin Moss. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Clyde Thomas officiating. Interment will be Frederick Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to: Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1449, Gaffney, S.C. 29342. The family will be at the home of Terry and Mary Price, 150 Lois Drive, Gaffney.
