During her life-time, she saw great and wondrous changes in the world around her, and had an amazing mind to embrace progress without losing style and grace. She is preceded in death by her husband, Claude Raymond Inglish (1910-1991), who represented Moniteau County in the Missouri State Legislature, and her parents, William Brian (1897-1988) and Rose Mae (Cunningham) Cook (1895-1966). Her father, also known as W. B. "Uncle Dick" Cook, was well known in Show Horse circles throughout the mid-west and beyond. Cleo and Claude, both born in Moniteau County, MO, were married May 3, 1942, and were long-time residents of mid-Missouri, living in both California and Sedalia. Cleo graduated salutatorian from Aurora High School, California, MO, Class of 1937, serving as "The Queen of the May." She attended what is now Central Missouri State University, earning teaching credentials, and began her career teaching multi-grade classes in one-room school houses around rural Missouri. Later, after school consolidation, she taught in the California, MO, school system. She and Claude then moved to Sedalia, where they ran several businesses including Inglish Construction Company. Cleo was a dedicated community volunteer, working tirelessly at any task. She also held many offices and had various responsibilities in her capacity as a long-time member of the First Christian Church in both California and then Sedalia. Among her many contributions, she served as the Sedalia representative to Christian Women United. She is survived by her siblings Robert (Bob) Cook, Sedalia; Dorothy (Cook) Landes, Independence; Merlin Cook, Pleasant Hill; and Betty Rose (Cook) Wade, Kansas City; a daughter, Dr. Jae Inglish, Sedalia; two sons, Gary Inglish, Jacksonville, FL, and Bruce Inglish, Tempe, AZ; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 11 a.m., Friday, August 14, at Bowlin Cantriel Funeral Home, 100 S. Oak St., California, MO (573-796-4901), with Funeral Services to follow at 1p.m., and internment at Shiloh Christian Church Cemetery in rural Moniteau County. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memory donations to the St. Augustine branch of the Northeast Florida Community Hospice, 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, FL, 32257 (904-268- 5200).
