Description	:	Cleo F. (Weisel) Meek, age 90, of Watertown, SD, formerly Clear Lake, SD, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at a care center in Clear Lake. She was the widow of Lyle Johnson and Edwin Meek. Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at the Congregational Church in Clear Lake. Pastor Jim Uthe will officiate. Music will be provided by Bernice Jorvig as organist with Nicole Johnson, Cleo's granddaughter, as soloist. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Clear Lake. Cleo was born on May 29, 1927, to E.W. and Josephine (Mortensen) Weisel in Hidewood Township, Deuel County, SD. She graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1944 and attended Carlton College at Northfield, MN. Cleo’s father started her riding horseback when she was five. She enjoyed having and riding horses until she was 70. Trail riding was her sport. She was one of the organizers of the SD Trail Riders Association and was secretary in the 80s. In 1947, Cleo married Lyle Johnson and they had two sons, Steve and Mike. The family lived on Crystal Springs Ranch and were active with the Crystal Springs Ranch Rodeo for many years. Cleo worked at the ASCS office in Clear Lake for 22 years. She then married Ed Meek in 1971 and together they purchased Mr. Ed’s Bar in Raymond, SD. The years following, Cleo was employed by Vern and Audrey Luken at Discount Farm Center and Virgil and Sue Borns at the Vienna Elevator and Ag Fertilizer in Watertown. Following retirement, Cleo volunteered as a foster grandparent at McKinley School in the kindergarten and second grade classrooms under the guidance of her friend, Donna Lauseng. She was incredibly proud of her family and was known to brag about her grandchildren. Cleo is survived by her two sons, Mike of Rapid City, SD, and Steve of Sioux City, IA; and three grandchildren: Cooper of Minneapolis, MN, Ben of Sioux City, IA, and Nicole of Henry, SD.
