He was an accomplished cabinet maker and woodworker and loved gardening. Cletus was born June 1, 1934, in Brighton, Iowa, a son of Michael and Gertrude (Arndt) Fritz. On October 10, 1959 he married his beloved wife of 61 years Beverly Votzmeier in Ft. Madison, Iowa and she survives in Fort Wayne. Also surviving are 3 daughters Michelle (Dennis) Ely of Roanoke, Julie (Larry) Lickey of Huntington, and Alicia (Duane) Reynolds of Grove City, Ohio, a son Alan (Heather) Fritz of Madison, Alabama, daughter-in-law Johanna (Jeff) Fritz-Killian, grandchildren Benjamin, Erin, Olivia, Rebecca, Matthew, Jacob, Rachel, Brian, Mark, Hannah, Simon, and Megan, a step great-grandchild Layla and a brother Sylvester Fritz of Brighton, Iowa. He was preceded in death by a son Kevin Fritz, 3 brothers Robert, Walter and John and 3 sisters Alice Redlinger, Marian Redlinger, Loretta Schneider. Visitation will be held Monday, November 2, from 9:30 – 11:00 am preceding the 11:00 am funeral mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Roanoke. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Roanoke Preferred memorials are to Alzheimer’s Association or Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home c/o Roanoke Memorial Chapel, 240 Crestwood Dr., Roanoke, IN 46783.
