He loved music, and led church services by voice and guitar for decades. He enjoyed identifying and photographing birds, making ceramics, raising cattle and other animals and experiencing diverse cultures. Clete passed into final peace Feb. 28, 2017. Burial is Nov. 4, 2017, at 11 a.m., at the St. Benedict cemetery. Decorah Newspapers Monday, October 16, 2017 FLORIDA CITY, Fla. - Cletus L. Houdek, 65, latest residency in Florida City, Fla., reunited with his parents, Leo and Frances Houdek, foster-son Kevin Grossman, and late wife, Susan Clark, in heaven on Feb. 28, 2017. He is survived by his children, John (Nicole), James (Tiffany), Barbara (Brian), and nine grandchildren. Clete was born in Decorah, Iowa, graduated DeSales High School and Luther College before moving to Lodi, Wis., with his then wife (32 years) Ann Cobbs.
