Bernard was born Dec. 17, 1938, in Granite Quarry to the late Mr. Clifford Bernard Holshouser Sr. and Mrs. Elizabeth Virginia Holshouser. Read More	Clifford Holshouser Jr. Obituary Clifford Bernard Holshouser Jr., 76, of Salisbury, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2015, at Glenn A, Kiser Hospice House. Bernard was born Dec. 17, 1938, in Granite Quarry to the late Mr. Clifford Bernard Holshouser Sr. and Mrs. Elizabeth Virginia Holshouser. Bernard proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a 1958 graduate of Granite Quarry High School and was the owner of Spencer Furniture Outlet. He was a member of Christiana Lutheran Church and sang in the choir for many years. Bernard was an avid fisherman and enjoyed working outside in his garden. He also sang in the Salisbury Choral Society, as well as all over Rowan County at retirement centers and nursing homes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Larry Holshouser, Kenneth Ray Holshouser and Charles William Holshouser. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Johnson Holshouser; a stepson, Kevin Johnson and wife Janie of Cofax; a stepdaughter, Kristy Cowden of Faith; two brothers, Mickey Holshouser of Oak Island and Don G. Holshouser of Rockwell; four sisters, Peggy Owen of Randleman, Judy Livengood of Salisbury, Sandra Taylor of Marietta, Ohio, and Joyce Ketchie of Salisbury. Graveside: A Graveside Service will be held Saturday July 25 at 1 p.m. at Christiana Lutheran Church Cemetery with military rites provided by the Rowan County Veterans Honor Guard and the National Guard. Service: A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. following the Graveside Service at Christiana Lutheran Church conducted by Pastor Carl Haynes. Visitation: The family will receive friends for fellowship and stories in the basement of the church following the Memorial Service. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Christiana Lutheran Church, Cemetery Fund and Pastor's Discretionary Fund, 6190 U.S. 52, Salisbury, NC 28146.
