Saturday, June 20, at First Baptist Church of Sterling. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The Rev. John Roberts will conduct the service. Mr. Hyde was born July 20, 1902, at Anthon, Iowa, to Estello Hyde. The family later moved to South Dakota, where they lived for several years. In 1911, Mr. Hyde, who was raised by his grandparents, moved to the Kelly community 18 miles southeast of Sterling. They lived for two years on the Estello Hyde homestead before buying the Dallas Landriim homestead. Before retiring, Mr. Hyde worked as a mechanic and farmer. In the 1940s, he operated a threshing machine. He was a member of the Protestant faith. Mr. Hyde married Florence Ames in 1935. She died in 1966. He married Edith Alice Coats March 19, 1972, at Loveland. He is survived by his wife, Edith, of Sterling; sons Robert Hyde of Sterling, Howard Hyde of Rochester, Minn., and John Coats of Englewood; daughters Donna Jochem of Ogallala, Neb., Marjorie Artzer of Cincinnati, Ohio, Dona Grace Adkin of Lakewood, and Alice Kupilik of Missoula, Mont; brother Harold Mallo of Boulder; sister Eloise Krueger of Sterling; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be until 8 p.m. today, and from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at Tennant Funeral Home. Memorial contributions in Mr. Hyde's name can be made to the Salvation Army or the charity of the giver's choice. Tennant Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
