Description	:	Burnell Peterson, 61, of LItchville, died unexpectedly at his home Saturday morning, September 6, 1980. C. Burnell Peterson was born March 12, 1919 in Fargo, the son of Birger and Margrite Peterson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in the Standing Rock Lutheran Church in Fort Ransom. He attended rural school and graduated from Fort Ransom High School. On November 24, 1943 he married Eunice Bjerke in the North LaMoure Lutheran Church. They had lived in LItchville since 1945. Burnell Peterson was born March 12, 1919 in Fargo, the son of Birger and Margrite Peterson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in the Standing Rock Lutheran Church in Fort Ransom. He attended rural school and graduated from Fort Ransom High School. On November 24, 1943 he married Eunice Bjerke in the North LaMoure Lutheran Church. They had lived in LItchville since 1945. He was a sales clerk for Arves and Nelson until ill health forced his retirement. Mr. Peterson was a member of the First Lutheran Church. He was a volunteer fireman and served as Secretary of the Fire Department. He served on the church Council, LItchville Park Board and the Commercial Club. He is survived by his wife; a son Eugene of Bismarck; a daughter, Valerie Johnson of Marion; two sisters, Mrs. LeMoyne (Margaret) Olson of Lisbon and Mrs. Melvin (Joyce) Lang of College Place, WA; and six grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services were Tuesday from the First Lutheran Church in Litchville with Rev. Russell Pollock officiating. Pallbearers were Norman Nelson, Gene Nelson, Mer McGregor, Dennis Anderson, Lyle Opdahl and Don Bolme. Burial was in Memory Gardens. Mrs. Dennis Anderson was at the organ providing the organ prelude and accompanied vocalists Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bubach, who sang “How Great Thoui Art” and Larry and Sandy Nelson who sang “He Touched Me.” Published in the LItchville Bulletin, Litchville, North Dakota, September 10, 1980 Submitted by Dennis C.
