Rex Harmon, pastor of the Christian Church conducted the services and burial took place in the Clayton cemetery. Mr. Milner was born Dec. 26, 1897, at Norton, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Oran F. Milner. His mother was the former Annetta Snow. He went with his parents to Enid, Okla., in 1900 and returned to Clayton 11 years later. He was graduated from the Clayton high school and the business college at Hutchinson, Kans. He married Esther Ward in Clayton on April 10, 1921. The Milners raised two daughters and two sons, one of whom was an adopted nephew of Mrs. Milner. After graduation from college Mr. Milner entered the mercantile business in Clayton and operated a store there until 1938. He then accepted a position as clerk and purchasing agent for the state sanatorium and continued in that capacity until his death. Known and respected by hosts of friends and neighbors in the Clayton and Norton area, Mr. Milner was a member of the United Brethren church at Clayton. He took an active interest in community affairs and was one of Norton's finest citizens. Left to mourn his passing are his wife, children, two sisters and three brothers. The children are Joan and Jerry Milner of Denver, Robert of the home and Gall Wood, the adopted son, living in Spokane, Wash. His brothers are Frank A. Milner of Oklahoma City, Rev. Gilbert C. Milner of Clayton. The sisters are Mrs. W.A. Eakin of Clayton and Mrs. W.C. Wakefield of Omaha.
