Martz, son of Thomas and Katherina (Rothfusz) Martz was born on October 16, 1925 near Ashley, ND. This is the area where he was raised and attended school. Clifford was united in marriage to Leona Wetzel on October 26, 1947. They made their home in Aberdeen for a short time and later moved to a farm near Ashley. They returned to Aberdeen and at this time Clifford received his bookkeeping training. He worked as a bookkeeper for several years prior to starting his career at Safeguard as a machinist. This is where Clifford was employed for many years until his retirement. Clifford and Leona continued to make Aberdeen their home. During their retirement they also enjoyed spending many winters in Arizona. In his younger years Clifford enjoyed hunting and fishing. In his later years he enjoyed relaxing and "people watching". Grateful for having shared Clifford's life are his wife of 65 years, Leona Martz, Aberdeen; one daughter, Karen (Garry) Teal; one son, Verle (Christine) Martz both of Arizona; grandchildren, Kameron (Dan) Poole, Nicholas Martz and Zachary Teal, great grandchildren, Aiden Lemon, Harper Lemon and Quinn Poole, grandson-in-law Jeff Lemon, sister Gertrude (Leroy) Gross and many nieces and nephews.
