Description	:	Clifford "Unkie" Bergstrom SCRANTON - Clifford "Unkie" Bergstrom, 92, passed away peacefully June 8th, 2011 at his home after an illness. Unkie was born in Charleston on December 13, 1918. He was the son of the late Sebastian Bach Bergstrom and the late Violet Eileen Jones Bergstrom, and was the widower of the late Margaret W. Bergstrom. Unkie was a veteran of World War II, having served as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division in the European Theater. Read More	Clifford "Unkie" Bergstrom SCRANTON - Clifford "Unkie" Bergstrom, 92, passed away peacefully June 8th, 2011 at his home after an illness. Unkie was born in Charleston on December 13, 1918. He was the son of the late Sebastian Bach Bergstrom and the late Violet Eileen Jones Bergstrom, and was the widower of the late Margaret W. Bergstrom. Unkie was a veteran of World War II, having served as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division in the European Theater. He made multiple jumps into combat zones and saw extensive fighting. Unkie was a lover of classical music and frequently attended concerts in the Lake City and Florence area. He was a very avid and devoted NASCAR fan. Mark Martin was his favorite driver and Unkie toured the east coast just to see Martin race. He was a machinist with Crown, Cork and Seal in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania before retiring to Port Richey, Florida. In 1985, Unkie moved to Scranton to live with his sister and family. He was a "Mr. Fix-It" whom his family dearly depended on. Unkie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Unkie's surviving family includes his sister, Emma B. Miles, of Scranton; his nieces, Miriam M. (Buster) Wise and Margaret M. McAllister (Gene), both of Scranton, Linda M. (Danny) Stone, of Pamplico, Janice M. (Larry) Courtney of Fort Mill, and Eileen M. (Carol) Filyaw of Coward; his nephew, Temus C. (Lois) Miles, of Scranton; his step-son, Paul Wiger-man; his daughter-in-law, Helen Lewis; his grandsons, Steven Wigerman, of Levittown, Pennsylvania and Rickey Wigerman, of Fairlessville, Pennsylvania; his granddaughter, Lynn Brady, of Merchantville, New Jersey; his great-granddaughter; his three great-grandsons; his nine grand-nieces; his five grand-nephews; his nine great-grand-nieces; and his nine great-grand nephews. Unkie was preceded in death by his brother, Wilburn Karl "Bill" Bergstrom; and his step-son, Ted Wigerman. Visitation for Unkie will be held from six until eight o'clock p.m., tonight, Friday, June 10th, 2011 in Stone's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church. Funeral services will be held at eleven o'clock a.m., Saturday, June 11th, 2011 in Stone's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will follow the funeral services in Riverside Cemetery.
