Read More	Clifford Roland Murrow of 17 N. 3rd Street in Iola departed from this life early Tuesday morning, February 10th, in Allen County Hospital at the age of 71 years, 8 months and 29 days. Born May 11, 1909 near Blue Mound, Kansas to David Blue Murrow and Anna M. White, he grew to manhood in the Blue Mound Area and attended schools in Blue Mound and Zenia. As a youth he was active in the Boy Scouts of America. On September 30, 1931 he was united in marriage to Mary Inez West in Mound City. To this union two sons, Richard and Ronald, were born. Clifford farmed in the Blue Mound community until moving to Iola in 1962. At the time of his death he was employed as a security guard at Gates Rubber Company. He has always been a devoted and loving family man; the family remembers that on his birthdays he would always tell them the only gift he wanted was a "happy and contented family and peace for all." His grandchildren were a particular source of joy and pride to him and he received great pleasure in assisting them in any way he could. This loyalty also extended to his friends and neighbors as he was ever ready to lend a helping hand in time of need. For the past two years Clifford has faithfully attended the Mt. Orum Baptist Church at Redfield where his son, Ronald, ministers. Although he has always been a man of deep faith he turned himself completely over to God the last year of his life serving and witnessing for Him until the very end. He informed his family in recent weeks he was prepared and fully ready to go home to the Lord. In addition to his wife, Mary Inez, and sons, Dick and Ron, he leaves to mourn his passing: seven grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph and Eldon Murrow; four sisters, Ione Weickert, Cleda Utley, Vera Sonnemann and Bernice Bayless; nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Lester Murrow, Hugh White Murrow and Richard Myron Murrow. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Iola. --Submitted by Edith Guynes Stanley
