Description	:	MISSOULA - Clifford Warren Elliott, 85, of Missoula, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at Riverside Health Care Center of complications from injuries he sustained in a traffic accident on Aug. 9. He was born Feb. 18, 1915, in Rover, Mo., to Ethell and Walter Elliott. In 1937 he came to Montana, where he worked on various ranches in the Big Timber area. Read More	MISSOULA - Clifford Warren Elliott, 85, of Missoula, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at Riverside Health Care Center of complications from injuries he sustained in a traffic accident on Aug. 9. He was born Feb. 18, 1915, in Rover, Mo., to Ethell and Walter Elliott. In 1937 he came to Montana, where he worked on various ranches in the Big Timber area. He fell in love with Bertha Plaggemeyer, the ranch cook. They were married in Big Timber and would have celebrated their 60th anniversary on Sept. 26. In 1950 they moved to Harlowton, where he worked at a service station and later owned and operated a service station. In 1960 they moved to Big Timber, where he owned and operated a motel and service station. They retired to Missoula in 1977. They attended the Christian Life Center and were active in the Golden Heirs group. He cared for Bertha after she suffered a stroke in 1995 and was confined to a wheelchair. In 1982 Clifford began his second career as a Missoulian carrier. He loved getting up early and made so many friends over the years. He was delivering papers when he was injured in a traffic accident. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Margaret Morris, Nina Moore and Mami Douglas; and brother Gerald Elliott. He is survived by his wife Bertha of Missoula; four daughters, Wanda Hathaway and husband, David, of Big Timber; Eva Palmer and husband, Merle, of Missoula; Yvonne Hritsco and husband, Dan, of Missoula; and Kathy Fenwick and husband, Scott, of Avondale, Colo.; five sons, Gary Elliott and wife, Kim, of Clinton; Randy Elliott and wife, Angie, of Turah; Mike Elliott and wife, Myoung, of Renton, Wash.; Steve Elliott of Deer Lodge; and David Elliott of Plains; 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friends. We will all miss your radiant smile, your quick wit and your great sense of humor. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, at the Christian Life Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Christian Life Center with the Rev. Harry Ayers and the Rev. David Tonn officiating. Burial and graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Big Timber Cemetery with Tim Hathaway officiating. Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Philip Hathaway, Kraig Hathaway, Marc Hathaway, Jason Palmer, Brandon Palmer, Kevin Hritsco, Charles Hathaway, Brian Hritsco, Christopher Elliott, Isaac Elliott and Cole Elliott. The family suggests memorials to the Golden Heirs Group, Christian Life Center, 3801 S. Russell St., Missoula, MT 59801. Arrangements are under the care of Garden City Funeral Home.
