Green, 77, passed away Friday, December 6 in the Sweet Grass Community Hospital. He was born on the family ranch southwest of Melville on November 22, 1914, the son of Earl and Emma Green. Clinton was the seventh of nine children. He was educated in Sweet Grass County graduation from SGHS. He worked at various jobs in Big Timber and Arizona prior to joining the U. S. Army in 1941. He served in the European Theatre from North Africa to the Liberation of Dachau Prison Camp. His outfit was the equivalent of a M.A.S.H. unit as a surgeon assistant. He was discharged from the Army in 1945. He married Alice E. Ellison in December of 1946. She preceded him in death in 1966. Clinton was an active businessman in Big Tomber from 1946 to 1950 when he moved to Roseburg, Oregon with his family of two children; Val and Sandra. A third child, Larry was born in 1951. In 1964 they moved to Bozeman where he went to work with the Montana Highway Department until his retirement in 1978. In 1976 he returned to his hometown of Big Timber to live and following his retirement he drove school bus for the school system. While in business he was very active in the Booster Club, a charter member of the Moose Lodge and the American Legion Post 19. He is survived by a stepson Val Kloeckner and his wife Nancy of Redding, California; a son Larry Green and his wife Pat of Redwood City, CA; a daughter Sandra Love and her husband Pat of Gillette, Wyoming; a sister Kathryn Lowry of Big Timber; two brothers, Borddie Green of Melville and Earl Green, Jr. of Billings; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Monday morning from the Big Timber Lutheran Chruch; Reverend James Holmlund officiated. Doris Mauland was the soloist accompanied by Debby Arlian in "How Great Thou Art." Casket bearers were nephews Victor Tronrud, Duane Tronrud, John Green, Doug Lowry, Bernie Hedrick, and his brother Earl Green, Jr. Burial with military honors by the American Legion Post 19 was in Mountain View cemetery.
