Clint was born April 16, 1935, in Great Falls, Mont., to Otto and Jessie (Kitchel) Diekman. He survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy (Dusek) Diekman. Clint was born April 16, 1935, in Great Falls, Mont., to Otto and Jessie (Kitchel) Diekman. He survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy (Dusek) Diekman. He lived to see two generations of grandchildren: Josh Apple (Aga), Steve Apple, Jenna Nelson (Bridger), Elise Burnham, Zach Diekman, Caleb Diekman, Jake Koelzer, Nevaeh Burnham, Quentin Nelson and Soren Apple. Clint grew up in Lewistown with sister, Patricia (Diekman) Gee, and brother, Duane Diekman (Liz). As a young man, Clint had a love of the outdoors that led him to join the Boy Scouts of America, where he later achieved the high honor of Eagle Scout. After graduating from Fergus High school in 1953, Clint attended Montana State University with an emphasis in Fine Arts. He was an artist in every sense of the word and his creative talents were an asset to his community — his yearly Christmas scenes were always a spectacle to be seen. After college Clint returned to Lewistown where he married his love, Dorothy Dusek, in October of 1957, and shortly after, they built a family together. He worked for Hines Motor Supply for over 25 years, where he started as a parts-man, but quickly rose into the managerial position. During that time he was a member of the National Guard and instrumental in the founding of the Silver Mountain Ski Club. He remained a lifelong advocate of skiing. Those who knew Clint remember him as a social character with a pocket full of jokes and a story up his sleeve. He was a cribbage champ, a master of the slopes, a river rat and an explorer. Clint taught his children to love nature, to see the beauty within the detail, and to always retain a passion for adventure. Some will remember him as a prospector of gold, while others will remember him as pure gold — a man who possessed real treasure. Memorial service will be held at Saint Leo's Catholic Church, Saturday, Sept. 21, at 11 a.m. Cremation has taken place and interment will follow at a later date. Please make any donations in Clint Diekman's name to Central Montana Hospice.
