Clinton was born December 31, 1910, in Spokane to Frank and Julia Kienitz. He graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1928. Clinton was born December 31, 1910, in Spokane to Frank and Julia Kienitz. He graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1928. Following his graduation, he traveled in his new roadster to Southern California to seek out new opportunities. He soon returned and settled permanently in the Wenatchee Valley. In 1932, Clint and Ines Greenaway eloped to Leavenworth and were happily married for almost 70 years. Clint, with a partner, started up a petroleum hauling business Cascade Transport. In the early 1950s he opened the first serve your self gas station in Eastern Washington at 9th and Wenatchee Ave. He eventually owned and operated several service stations in the Wenatchee area. He retired at 60 years of age but continued working in small business ventures. Clinton was an active participant in the Wenatchee community. He was a member and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church. He held offices in both Lions and Elks Clubs. He was asked to serve on the Planning Commission for the City of Wenatchee. He supported the development of Mission Ridge by raising monies locally. His favorite project was the creation of a public golf course for the "working man" and was a founder of Three Lakes Public Golf Course. Clint and Ines also supported several local charities. Clint's friends enjoyed his great sense of humor. His many favorite pastimes included ballroom dancing, golfing, fishing, traveling and spending family time at his cabin on Lake Chelan. He was a loving father, grandfather, husband and friend who filled our lives with love and touched our hearts. He is survived by his four daughters, Beverly Thomas of Kirkland, Sharon Lloyd of Kirkland, Julie Phipps (Bud) of Bellevue and Sue Anderson of Yakima; three granddaughters, three grandson and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Ines and his parents. The family would like to thank Clinton's exceptional caregivers, Karen Christenson, Angie McCall and Julie Enslow. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 2, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. at Telfords Chapel of the Valley in East Wenatchee. Burial services will immediately follow at the Wenatchee Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to W.V.C Foundation, Nurses for Tomorrow.
