Born in Whaleyville, Maryland on August 5, 1924, he was the son of the late John Henry and Rosa Catherine Lewis Scott. He was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church, a Veteran of WW 2; served in the US Army and was trained as a heavy caliber machine gunner. Scott, age 87, of Willards passed away at the Berlin Nursing Home on December 2, 2011. Born in Whaleyville, Maryland on August 5, 1924, he was the son of the late John Henry and Rosa Catherine Lewis Scott. He was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church, a Veteran of WW 2; served in the US Army and was trained as a heavy caliber machine gunner. He owned and operated a farm, and a taxidermy business, along with his wife of 63 years, Margie A. Scott, who preceded him in death in 2004. He is survived by two sons: Victor L. Scott, and wife Amanda, of Meza, AZ; and Alan C. Scott, and his wife Ethel, of Willards, MD; and a daughter, Barbara Ann Parker, and her husband James, of Willards, MD. He was an only child. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at the Dennis Cemetery on Powellville Road, in Willards at 2:00 PM. Family and Friends may call at Watson Funeral Home; 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE from 12:30 till 1:30 PM on Tuesday, prior to traveling to the gravesite. Lay Speaker Dennis Bradford will officiate. Flowers are welcomed.
