He was born Jan. 28, 1920, in Scribner to Bernard and Bertha (Havekost) Von Seggern in Scribner. He attended rural school and graduated from Scribner High School in 1937. Read More	Clinton Von Seggern, 90, of Scribner died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, at Fremont Area Medical Center. He was born Jan. 28, 1920, in Scribner to Bernard and Bertha (Havekost) Von Seggern in Scribner. He attended rural school and graduated from Scribner High School in 1937. Upon returning from the service in the Army Air Corps in England, he started farming in the Scribner area. He married Mildred Bachman on Aug. 1, 1948, in Creston. He was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Cuming County Line, participating fully in the life of the congregation. These activities led to leadership roles on Nebraska Synod committees. Membership on school and local co-op boards provided opportunities for lasting friendships and neighborliness. In 2004, Clinton received the Theo Roosevelt Conservation Award which culminated 50 years of soil and water conservation activities on the county and state levels. Survivors include: his wife, Mildred; daughters, Suzanne (and husband, David) Olson of Wayne and Marilyn (and husband, Timothy) Kohler of Pullman, Wash.; two sons, Donald (and wife, Becky) Von Seggern of Scribner and Glenn (and wife, Beth) Von Seggern of Omaha; nine grandchildren; a sister, Bernetta Schroeder of Omaha; a brother, Myron (and wife, Lois) Von Seggern of Hastings, Mich.; sister-in-law, Doris Von Seggern of Fremont; and extended family, Helmut (and wife, Hanna) Martin of West Point. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Cuming County Line, with Vicar Jeffrey Schmitz officiating. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. today at Ludvigsen's Scribner Funeral Chapel with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time Saturday at the church. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Scribner Area Foundation, ERRMA and St. John's Lutheran Church.
