Description	:	Funeral service for Clint Humphry, who died at Palmer Memorial hospital Wednesday evening, was held Saturday at the United Methodist church. Burial was in the West Union cemetery. Rev Stephen R. Root officiated. Mrs. Doran Meyer was organist, music including a duet by Dr and Mrs. Wayne Bicknese. Merle Brown and Howard Herschinger were ushers. Pallbearers included Herman Doscher, Kenneth Frey, Cecil Snively, Lawrence Cannon, Irvin Osmundson and Carroll Grimes. Clinton William Humphry was born June 3, 1885, on a farm in Illyria township, the son of Walter K. and Martha Carmichael Humphry. He graduated from Volga High school and later took a business course at Upper Iowa University. In 1912, he married Susie Tope and they had one daughter, Irene. Mrs. Humphry died in 1913. In 1916, he married Eva Whitford, and they had one son. Paul, who died in infancy. Eva Humphry died in 1958. During these years Mr. Humphry farmed in several areas in Fayette county, his last farm being at the junction of Highways 18 and 150 in West Union where he also owned and operated Humphry dairy for many years. A few years after retiring he married Lucille Nus in October of 1963. He was a longtime member of the Methodist church and was honored as a 50-year Mason in 1969. Survivors include his wife, Lucille; daughter, Irene Anderson, Grundy Center, two grandchildren, Richard Clinton Anderson, Council Bluffs, and Mrs. Marilyn Anderson Estes, Macomb, IL, five great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Bess Bishop, Des Moines. Also surviving are his stepchildren, Mrs Don Nehring, New London, Mrs. Sidney Crowe, West Union; CW4-E B. Kutschat, Lobberich, West Germany, eight step grandchildren and eleven step great grandchildren.
