Description	:	Cloyce Buck Shaffer, 54, an employee of the Pharis Tire and Rubber company, died today at 7:15 a.m. in Newark hospital the result of a perforated peptic ulcer. He was admitted to the hospital Saturday when he became seriously ill. A native of Columbus, he was born Jan. 8, 1892, the son of the late Edward J. and Lucy (Buck) Shaffer. He was admitted to the hospital Saturday when he became seriously ill. A native of Columbus, he was born Jan. 8, 1892, the son of the late Edward J. and Lucy (Buck) Shaffer. He engaged in farming in the Fredonia area 30 years ago and later was associated with the Moore-Ross dairy of Alexandria. The past four years he had worked in the tube room at the Pharis plant. Mr. Shaffer was a member of the Liberty church and the Rubberworkers' union. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Grace Shaffer; three children, Mrs. Jean Hayes and Charles F. Shaffer, both of Newark, and Miss Lucille Shaffer of the home, 17 Western avenue; also two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Ellas of Fredonia and Mrs. Leta Robinson of Appleton; his stepmother, Mrs. Nora Shaffer, of Highwater. A daughter Louise Mae is deceased. The body is at the Gutliph & Henderson funeral home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete but burial will be made in Fredonia.
