Description	:	Clyde Austin Bennett moved to Magrath Canada with his father Austin R Bennett from Lehi, Utah in April 1903. He married Inez Rich in 1912 just before he left for a church mission to Eastern Canad. Clyde and Inez were always active in the chruch and community affairs. As members of the United Farmers of Alberta they tried to improve farm conditions in Alberta. Inez was president of the UFWA. Both Clyde and Inez were true pioneers, they were tireless in their efforts to improve opportuntities for young people in the community. Inez died in Magrath in 1964. Clyde moved to Ridgeview Lodge in Raymond aftger a burn left him unable to maintain his home and lovely garden in Magrath. Children: Rich married Dona Galbralth Mildred married Douglas Harker Varge married Arlene Wilde. The following provided by Dona Joy Harker Butler. about Clyde Bennett: He was 14 when he drove a herd of cattle north to Canada from Utah. He only had a trail to follow and land marks to watch for as he drew near the Canadian Border. He was to watch for the Milk River Ridge, a prominent land mark, and follow it to the little town of Magrath. Then he was to search for a family by the name of "Spencer". The prairie grass was up to the belly of the horses all along the way
