The White Steamer Clyde has his father's trait of doing what he likes best to do as shown by the repair work on cars he did in his shop. But while his skills are long mechanical lines he found time to help his brother Lew in the store whenever needed. When Clyde was in high school he worked for Charles Barnard at the steam laundry in Nevada. After graduation he went to Des Moines with Barnard to work as a mechanic when cars were run, first by steam. Clyde had a White Steamer car which was used on the Des Moines job.
