Description	:	Clyde "C.J." Davis, 79, of 423 S. Pocahontas, died at 5:15 am May 1, 2011, at his home. He was born July 20, 1931, in Ottumwa to Charles and Thelma Venator Davis. He married Margaret Dayton March 25, 1951, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. C.J. was a 1949 graduate of Ottumwa High School. He worked at the Standard Oil Terminal for 25 years and Elliott Oil Co. for 15 years, retiring in 1994. He enjoyed playing golf for many years. Surviving are his wife, Margaret; two sons, Chris Davis of Ottumwa and Steve(Lauri)Davis of Galesburg, IL.; a daughter, Marcia(Sam)Stam of Ottumwa; four grandchildren, Megan(Doug Morriss)Hotz of St. Louis, Mo., Zach(Katie)Davis of Brooklyn, N.Y., Cody(Trudy)Davis and Stephanie(Scott)Perry, both of Ottumwa; three great-grandchildren, Tate, Drew and Reid, all of St. Louis, Mo.; two brothers, Denny Draper of Ottumwa and David Draper of Eagle Rock, MO,; four sisters, Mary Ellen Cooper and Sandy Findley, both of Ottumwa, Diana Chavez of Hiawatha, and Cindy Colby of Whitehall, Wis. Funeral sdrvices will be 11 am Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Charles McCracken officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 am Tuesday with the family present from 5-8 pm. A memorial has been established to Hospice, Ottumwa, Iowa.
