Description	:	Clyde Edward Almond, 93, of Albemarle passed away Friday March 21, 2014 in Bethany Woods Nursing Center. His funeral service will be 3 PM Sunday March 23 in Canton Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Mabry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. He was a graduate of Endy School. He was the former owner and operator of Almond Supply Company and he also worked and retired from Stanly Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Canton Baptist Church. He loved golfing, fishing, gardening and providing vegetables to his family, friends, and neighbors. He is survived by his wife, Elsie Lois Cochran Almond. Other survivors include son Neil Almond and wife Jo of Midland, daughter Patricia A. Hinson of Albemarle, brother Tommy Almond and wife Joan of Albemarle, sister Doris A Burleson of Albemarle, 2 grandchildren: Julia Wise and Josh Almond and wife Brandy, 4 great-grandchildren: Nichole, Kasey, Brittany and Geoffrey, and 5 great-great grandchildren: Melody, Cashe, London, Cameron and Wyatt, and a grandpuppy Rudi. He was preceded in death by brothers Craven P. Almond, Billy V. Almond, Jimmy Almond and sister Edith Almond. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Canton Baptist Church Building Fund, 24615 Endy Rd. Albemarle, NC 28001 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
