He was born July 26, 1922, in Conway, a son of Maybell Hardee Singleton of Georgetown and the late Pearly Singleton. He was born July 26, 1922, in Conway, a son of Maybell Hardee Singleton of Georgetown and the late Pearly Singleton. He was the widower of Virginia Ann Cannon Singleton and Dorsie Mae Godfrey Singleton. Mr. Singleton grew up in Horry County and moved to Georgetown as a young man. He was a retired employee of the container division of International Paper Co. He also worked for Pinkerton Security Services as a security guard at Georgetown Memorial Hospital for six years. He was a security officer at Pawleys Plantation Golf and Country Club. He attended First Church of the Nazarene. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Mildred Singleton of Georgetown; a son, Terry Singleton of Little River; two daughters, Ann Singleton and Virginia Stimpson, both of Georgetown; three stepsons, John Cribb of Conway, Joey Cribb Jr. of Georgetown and Jack Linton of Society Hill; a brother, William Singleton of Georgetown; six sisters, Eloise Foxworth, Mary Grace Burkette, Evelyn Cordray and Lucille Thompson, all of Georgetown, Pearline Cribb of Hemingway and Oneta Ward of Trio; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three stepgranddaughters. Visitation will be from 7-9 tonight at Georgetown chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Church of the Nazarene. Burial will be in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
