Description	:	Clyde Hill, son of William R. and Nancy K. Hill, was born July 10, 1885, near Edgar, Nebr., where he grew to manhood. His entire life was spent in Sheridan Township, Clay County, with the exception of the past year in Fairfield. He passed away at the family home in Fairfield after a lingering illness on November 11, 1949, at the age of 64 years, 4 months and one day. On Sept. 9, 1908, he was united in marriage to Anna C. Hill, was born July 10, 1885, near Edgar, Nebr., where he grew to manhood. His entire life was spent in Sheridan Township, Clay County, with the exception of the past year in Fairfield. He passed away at the family home in Fairfield after a lingering illness on November 11, 1949, at the age of 64 years, 4 months and one day. On Sept. 9, 1908, he was united in marriage to Anna C. Hurst of Sutton. To this union three children were born, two sons and one daughter. One son, Cecil, preceded him in death. In early life, Mr. Hill accepted the Christian faith and united with the Evangelical Church near Clay Center, in which faith he remained true to the end. He was a good neighbor and a loving husband and father. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife; one son, Leonard, and one daughter, Mrs. Lester Vaughan, all of Fairfield: one sister, Mrs. Eva Washburn of Clay Center and one brother, Ernest Hill, of Sunol; one granddaughter, Joyce LaVonne, and one grandson, Richard Clyde; nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Two sisters and four brothers preceded him in death. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Nov. 13, 1949 with the Rev. Maude V. Mann officiating, assisted by Rev. Edmund Grieb at the home and Rev. Glen Riley at the Evangelical United Brethren Church east of Clay Center. A male quartet, composed of Ted Nelson, Lester Nelson, Eugene Mack and Bert Parker sang "Never Grow Old," "Going Down the Valley" and "No Night There." Mrs. Ted Nelson played the accompaniment. Pallbearers were Henry Sterkel, Willis Hall, Emil Nelson, Fred Lobeda, Gust Forberg and Art Dedrickson. Burial was made in the Edgar Cemetery.
